LaunchGVL receives $250,000 to expand student internships
One of fifteen chosen from more than 130 applicants. The grant funds a rise from 220 students a year to 300.
The Greenville Chamber Foundation has received a $250,000 grant from The Leon Levine Foundation to expand LaunchGVL, awarded through the Carolina Career-Connected Learning Challenge.
The Foundation was one of fifteen organizations selected from more than 130 applicants across North and South Carolina.
The money buys places. It funds an increase in annual participation from 220 students to 300, alongside more internship opportunities with local employers and school-based support for the students taking them.
LaunchGVL is a partnership between the Greenville Chamber and Greenville County Schools that has connected high school students with paid internships at Greenville-area businesses since 2018. It is open to students aged 16 and older across all 14 Greenville County high schools.
