Common questions

Is there a cost to participate?

There is no fee to participate in LaunchGVL. Positions in the program are paid, so employers are responsible for the wages you offer your intern, and you set that range when you post the role.

What is the time commitment?

It varies by position, but most internships are 8 to 15 hours per week during the school year and 10 to 40 during the summer. Internship sessions are often aligned with the school calendar but can be longer depending on company needs. Interview Day itself typically takes two to four hours. Employers are required to complete a short evaluation of each student intern once 40 hours or more have been worked.

What industries can participate?

All of them. Businesses have taken part from healthcare, technology, finance, manufacturing, marketing, hospitality and more. Breadth of career exposure is a core goal of the program.

How are students screened?

Students apply on the LaunchGVL website to express interest and are vetted by the school's work-based learning coordinator, who certifies their eligibility.

Can we post multiple positions?

Yes, as many as you have opportunities for. Each one is reviewed individually.
