"For over 100 years, United Way of Greenville County (UWGC) has united the community to help people live better, safer, and more successful lives. While our work has evolved to meet the challenges of the day, our vision remains the same: to mobilize people and resources to improve lives, strengthen the community, and advance equity for the benefit of all. Our vision is Greenville County where all people have access to the opportunities to achieve their full potential. Sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), UWGC operates the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which provides free income tax preparation assistance to individuals and families with household incomes of approximately $65,000 or less per year. VITA works to ensure everyone in the community receives all the tax credits and deductions for which they are eligible, to help more individuals and families achieve greater financial stability through free tax preparation."
